GNG Group preparing for Brexit

This week Ben Priestley – GNG Group Finance and Commercial Director, attended a Brexit Roundtable discussion of key business leaders organised by Wakefield First and hosted by Wakefield Council to help local businesses through Brexit.

Deputy Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Regeneration, Cllr Darren Byford, told the meeting that with the help of strong Wakefield companies GNG Group, a resilient local economy can be created and the Council is committed to providing help and support.

“Wakefield is one of the 10 fastest growing local economies in the UK and employment has never been higher which is down to local businesses and how we, as a Council, provide an enabling environment to help them grow.”

However, business leaders said that another extension to Brexit would further impact their business and that leaving the EU without an agreement would not be in their interest and would create more economic uncertainty.

After the meeting Ben Priestley said, “GNG Group is equally committed to working with local government and businesses and those on a national and global level. We will be working towards mitigating the challenges faced by Brexit, deal or no deal, and taking advantage of the opportunities that arise.”
